To help with the track repairs, it was decided to have a mobile workshop where items can be stored to assist with the track work. Idea being that instead of loading and the to unload what is left after the days exercise the items could be left inside.
Myself, Jim, was the team leader with help from Noel, Carl, Keith, Neville, Trevor, Nick and with some help from Corrections.
The work time was over 3-4 months with Denyse also working through the week. The inside is lined with tongue and groove. A work bench with a huge vice and shelving / bins to store items. we would like to think that this vehicle is reasonably secure. The door is made of retaining wall timbers and well built. The windows are from carriages and even a bus window. These let in a reasonable amount of light and ventilation. The door is centered on the vice in-case of any long lengths that may need to be worked.
The last image show how I worked to try and keep the weather out at the ends. This worked a treat.
If there is need of electrical lighting this will be of the same as the carriage LED's, but may not need them?.

As far as I am concerned I think I have done what is need to be done. Thanks to the Team that have helped on this project. Been fun!.

It has been brought to my attention that the iron to clad the sides etc, and a lot more of, was donated by Gary Dunlop. Thank you Gary. The roofing was colour steel that was left over from the open car

The end product and has been in use for some little time now.
By all of those who have used the workshop have been very delighted with it.
